Where have we gone
you and I?
Differing paths
you, the high
I, the low
If not for a momentary bliss
I would be remiss
Our paths never cross
parallel lines never do
But unlike us
parallel lines have never met
Ours is a divergence
a growing apart
from a focal point
Gone the days
you tamed the beast
Gone the days
I captured the wind
Gone the days
we played with fire
Intricate labels
of which we never cared
simplistic fables
intimately shared
Love bound us fast
doomed from the start
Confusion cursed our lot
pulled us apart
me from you
you from me
No longer in sunshine
my heart’s strength fades
Wave upon wave
pointy crescent moons
sharp crooked stars
stabbing at my heart
I despise the darkness
Your bright warmth my fondness
I live on in memories
though difficult to see
like the forest for the trees
or the buzzing in my head
like the buzzing of a bee
floating flower to flower
It’s simplistic beauty
when suddenly it stings
and dies just as fast
as our love
breathed its last
