For the majority of my life, the subject of the ufo
phenomenon has held a prominent place for me
and occupied much of my thinking! Whether you
are a 'believer' or a skeptic, you have been touched
by the subject at some point in your life, whether
you are aware of it or not!
That statement is not meant to sound condescending
or arrogant, and I hope it isn't percieved as such. My
hope is that you stay interested enough to continue
reading. The fact that there are many skeptics in this matter
is quite clear, but there are also a large, growing number
of believers....maybe, experiencers , would fit as a more
'tasteful' description.
Since the young age of 14 I have written dozens of
articles concerning ufos and there nature, mostly for
my own, personal satisfaction, and blogged about it
as an adult! I am now a 56 year old guy who is just
plain fascinated and intrigued with this phenomena!
I urge great caution to all researchers and the very
inquisitive out there who put time and effort into this
historical enigma! Your findings, at least in part, may
lead you to conclusions you might not be prepared for.
Of the many researchers, psychiatrists and paranormal
investigators that have been and currently are engaged
in the feild, several names pop out to the community!
Jaque Valee, Budd Hopkins, Whitley Streiber, Dr.Lear
and L.A.Marzulli. These men have studied, tested, re-
searched and written extensively about ufos for decades!
Though a few of them differ in their personal opinions
on the definition and true nature of these craft (if anyone
really knows for certain) , there are commonalities to
some of their findings! And such is the case with me! I
enthusiastically recommend that you read the work of
each of these men and make your own conclusions, if
possible!
The investigation is on-going for me and, since that is
the case, I fully expect to bring forth more articles which
have detailed accounts in them and my own experience
as an 11 year old child here in Kentucky. Hopefully you
will be willing to read those accounts and my position on
this burgeoning (L.A.'s word) and mysterious conundrum.
Until then, be a sky-watcher and write your own account!
Thank you very much, Lee! I appreciate your kind words. They are encouraging!
Great to hear the inspiration behind a piece, especially when it's not exactly what it seems. Makes it very interesting reading the poem from different perspectives. Keep up the good work...
The poem is actually about time-travel involving a man who finds his true love in the distant past! He tries his best to get back to her after a terrible mistake is made,
bringing him back to the present-day! I have to answer, yes, to your second question. Writing about a subject such as ufos is daunting but fun! I am fascinated
with it! Thank you, sir!
Was your poem "In Due Time" about an encounter? Or have you written any poems about UFO's? Sounds like it would be a tough but interesting challenge...
