The Question Sonnet
Does the worm sleep in the cocoon? Does he dream of wings? What's hidden in the robin's tune? What causes him to sing? Why does the night in blinking wonder, Choose to hide behind the thunder? What drives the mole into the earth, To seek a home that's dark? Who pays the pot-of-gold's worth To make the rainbow's arc? Why does the ocean think it's best To splash and splash and never rest? Why should these answers not be found? A mind lives free where questions abound.
Brilliant x
It's all great, and I especially like: "Why does the night in blinking wonder / Choose to hide behind the thunder?"
Excellent poem!
