I have heard people say the book is written by man. Well, yes. Of course, it is. With God’s voice. It is non-fiction. I guess you could say a book of life, about life. Have you ever heard of a ghost writer? The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost.
In the beginnings starts out the greatest book in history. Such an amazing book. The Holy Bible.
History, mystery, travels, adventure. A touch of murder, violence, and amazing grace. In this book is the fate of a nation, the fate of the world. Death and destruction, beauty, and peace.
History. Some say that if we live by the bible we must sacrifice, cut peoples hands off, stone women, etc. Sure. It says so in the Bible. In the past they did. Key word…in the past. We cannot change? That is the history part. That changed by God’s words.
We used to have hangings, firing squads, etc, but we no longer do. Why? Because we have changed.
God’s word changed as well. No more sacrifices. No more flooding of the earth. Along came Jesus and that brought about the New Testament. This is how we live now. He was the ultimate sacrifice. The King that saved the world and his flock.
John 13:34-35 King James Version (KJV)
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
God took away the old and gave us the new. The Old Testament is History. Just as our United States and World History. It is there as a reference, a referral. It is there to show how far we have come. The evolvement of man. Have we changed so much?
Remember the Old Testament but live by the New Testament. Jesus is the Way, The Truth, and The Life.
Remember our history. Slavery, stoning, swords, lance, mace, but remember the New. Love. That is all the commandments rolled in to one.
LOVE. The Bible? I read it every day. You can read it or not. The choice is yours. From David and Goliath, to Job, to the Birth, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus it is a fascinating non- fiction book.
YES, Man wrote it, but God is the Storyteller and He can weave miracles in this book.
I so agree with you. It is a most amazing book. So many things, so many challenges, so many trials.
The Bible (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth), is truly the best book to read over and over again. Adventure, wisdom, mistakes, drama, travel, conflict and much more. Each time I read a passage I try to get more out of it than the time before. Then I try to apply it to my life which is ALWAYS the hardest art
