Oh! the sunrise
A sprightly sight to behold
That iris of fire so pretty
In its mascara of pure light
The blues and greens
Risen into a new vibrant glow
The sun blooms on the horizon
Golden petals stretching outward
Into the rich blue
Illuminates the sky with radiant gold
And warmest hues of the rainbow
Colours that bring gentle passion to the soul
And copper tints with a kiss of sweet baby lips
The shimmering clouds still beneath the ethereal glow
Calypso felt at home in a way she never had before
Golden light dribbled over the land
Leaves glimmered like a mirror flecked mosaic
And the morning dew sparkled on the bejeweled grass
As birds broke into a chorus of melodies
Sunrise called to the soul of the land
As a mother to her child
