Souls to Come
Spirits of the souls, shadows escape the light,
Flight of fancy, gather your wings for flight.
Darkened sky, a touch of mist gently falls,
A whisper of the wind brings him amid it all.
So tall he stands so vivid the scene.
I wonder is it real? Or is it part of a dream?
Run. Capture my reality and fear my imagination.
I cannot run my thoughts held captive in my frustration?
Images swirled, visions twirled, voices eased in and out,
Many had been told when he come there was no doubt.
He would be your dreams, he would be your nightmares.
He would be everything you loved, your heart laid bare.
Legend held true then of the prince of lost souls,
And I felt my life journey way beyond control.
I was not dead. Run, run, run as far as fast as I could,
I could not move all my words and thoughts did little good.
Stand still time for the need has grown over the years,
The excitement, the edge of the seat, jump kind of fear.
More popcorn, another Pepsi, commercial break is through,
As the movie continues, who done it? I still haven’t a clue.
