I thought that I must smile at you
You know the way I used to do
Like when we visited the local Zoo
And saw the rare Orangatoo
I thought that we may walk a while
On woodland path in woodland style
See the wild deer for a while
Or stroke the local Badgerdile
I thought that we may watch the birds
As they fly by but how absurd
You did not say a single word
As the woodrabbit flew by unheard
So now I sit and watch TV
With remote controller on my knee
And wish that you had seen with me
The two headed dog that came to tea.

The emotional and nostalgic tone throughout this poem makes us both smile and sad. As you travel down memory lane, the past speaks with such vivid and evocative details, making this a very compelling and realistic read. Thank you so much for sharing with us! Very wonderful poem .
