They fought for our freedom. But are we really free?
There are many restrictions on what we can do and what we can see.
It is even written on paper our constitutional rights,
Many a battle, many a tear shed, many a fight.
So, are we really free? It depends on the perspective,
Perhaps yes, perhaps no. In certain ways, it can be effective.
Even though we are free we need rules to thrive,
Without them our society will not survive.
Freedom with restrictions it is all a personal choice,
Everyone in the world has a chance to use their voice.
Whips and chains, though our bodies will sink,
Our minds can make the choice to continue to think.
Each day our freedom is restricted more and more,
We can go back to the way we were before.
We can stop the violence and bring forth peace,
Rise to the top let our voices be released.
Shout to the world we want our freedom back,
Our lives should no longer be brought under attack
We can conquer we can choose to stay strong, to love, to laugh to smile,
Just a small taste of freedom makes life worthwhile.
