One Evening at Sacrosanct Sunset
Oh! when I witnessed the Sun set at the portals of heaven
The whole dazzling day slowly melted into a hue saffron,
And I stood in all fervor basking in light, beside the valleys lorn love to explore;
Looking and gawking beyond the flanks of green hill and the nearby blue shore,
Perhaps that was but the sacrosanct lamp of day, glowing sacred at yonder side;
And, all the marvels on earth fade as the red ball in the sea hide.
Oh! when I witnessed the Sun set at the portals of heaven
All those street lights seemed dull, conceivably jealous in the hours of dusk then,
And I stood in wonder, as beyond the horizon lay the wisdom of tomorrow;
Looking and gazing, I enjoyed the orange farewell for the morrow,
Perhaps my heart, knew all the divine mysteries of magical splendor;
And, all the frantic time, unlocking the music of evening, so soft and tender.
Oh! when I witnessed the Sun set at the portals of heaven
All the untold tales weaved new promises for the dawn,
And I stood in awe beholding the marvelous burst of gold;
Looking and staring until the twilight in dusky purple tolled.
Perhaps all faded glory and deceased peace, rolled down to make worse
And, all eyes were blinded in the shimmering serene moments of universe.
Oh! when I witnessed the Sun set at the portals of heaven
All that sparkling luster of play seemed a stream of fine illusion,
And I stood in amazement watching the jovial union of birds chirping;
Looking and gawking, comforting my difficult days, wretchedness encroaching,
Perhaps cheering mine heart, nestling my bruised heart in luminous vapors;
And, my thoughts held firm, the truth of world inspired sweet optimistic verse.
Oh ! when I witnessed the Sun set at the portals of heaven
All that was a mystical loft, casting shadows on dark life then,
And I stood still awakening in wonder, admiring the vanished soul to rise;
Looking and gazing long, breathing heavily and infinitely until sunrise,
Perhaps, the unforgotten scenery bursting out emotions, soothed soul’s inner crust;
And, the loneliness of dusk, teaching escape from reality, acknowledged wanderlust.
