Staring out the window looking for nothing she can see, Searching for what she lost; an old forgotten memory. Everything is different, nothing is the same, She lost the answers long ago when thought left her brain.
There are no how’s, when’s or why’s anymore Nothing to cling to there is no after or before Only now, and it does not last long, In a matter of seconds, that thought is long gone.
Flights of memory drift like the waves of the ocean, Sometimes a raging storm puts her anger in motion. She cries, and she does not even know why, She cannot grasp the reason before it passes her by.
She was not always like this thing she had become, Once carefree and happy, not thoughtless and numb. She had worked, laughed, and loved, smiled every day, Went to church on Sunday, took the time to pray.
Not anymore. She tried but her words came out all wrong, Slurred and mixed up like a drunken man’s song. They come for her. It is time to say goodnight. And as they put her to bed darkness replaces the light.
She cannot stop the tears as demons gather in her dreams Shhhh, my child. I will hold you. God is there to calm her screams
