The ground is covered with debris
after the leaves have fallen down
for late autumn has descended
each mighty tree have lost their crown
Foliage found thickly on the around
as the seasons, they can not stay
slowly losing their bright colours
constantly changing every day
Decaying, disintegrating
taking on a new appearance
rotting, composting back to soil
before winter does the clearance
Small patches of lace can be seen
among all the leaves on the ground
so beautiful and delicate
a little treasure that's been found.

We can definitely smell, see, and imagine the coming of autumn with this metaphorical interpretation! Thank you, Elisabeth, for sharing this seasonal poetic gem! Love it!
A treasure of a poem, lovely Lissie x
