That I can call you
From where you went
That I could care you
If sometimes
You lament
That I can see
How you are
That I can soften
All this war
That I can bring you back to my home
That I can hold you wherever you from
That I can show you
Results of this wave
That I can tell you
All this is naive
That I can sleep
In your arms again
That I can dream once again
To forego this pain
If that I can
@Mrigraj M Mahanand The word, ‘if’, is such an interesting word; instilled with so much optimism, while at the same time, restricted to a world of doubt, the unknown, and uncertainty. This poem’s theme also implies both sides of this, hopeful, yet possessed by the incomplete spirit of sadness as his love seems to have already escaped his grasp. But - for good? This is the real question. A beautiful and heartfelt piece to read. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
