If wishes were kisses and dreams made of gold, I’d take your heart, to have and to hold. I’d treat it gently, I’d hold it with pride, You would be my man, my love, my life.
If thoughts of the moment turned to silver dust, We would be alone in the world, just the two of us. If my tears blended with the sparkling dew, It would only be because dreams do not come true.
The stars in the sky lose their sparkle for me, My wishes and dreams turn to fantasy. Somewhere, somehow, I will find you, But in the meantime what am I to do?
I sit and wait, wondering who you are, Do I know you, do you come from afar? Sometimes I feel so alone in the night, Then here you come invading my life.
You leave me to wonder if we will ever meet, If not, then I’ll see you in my dreams.
