House of cards
You draw your queen of hearts,
Besides the pool table,
Where I’m declared
As the joker,
In your ruthless rule.
You shuffle my feelings,
With resentment,
Because I’m that wild card,
You choose to discard,
As you become king.
You make bets mid-way,
On the probability of getting aces,
But fail to realize,
Those strategic games,
will change your luck.
You were too blind to see,
The little tricks,
Placed in every deck,
Calculating every move,
So, you could lose.
Yet, the main principle,
Of this rigorous game,
Was to win my house of cards,
Through meticulous affection,
Of my bluff shaped in spades
What an interesting turn in this story! I guess that is why games can be so tricky. You never quite know who is doing what or...what their next move will be. That's why it's always good to be two steps ahead!
