The world was so still the day we heard we'd lost you Phill The sun in the sky , was as much as we could do not to cry
Now when we go to bed and lay down our heads
Thoughts turn to you and what more we could do
Why were we so blind to see
Life's not all its cracked up to be ..
What's so sad you didn't know the meaning of bad
It hurts that you were so good
Do anything for anyone you would
A good soul caring your role
Getting along , with everyone
Always asking after others
Like they were your Sister or Brother
Stop for a chat we could be sure of that
You would mean it too & that is so true
Didn't wait for things to go wrong
Before you offered a shoulder to cry on
Big as a bear people like you are so rare
The all loving person who really cared
High & Mighty, mighty high
Where you now tread angels fly
Belfast boy like your hero the Best
As good as Pele' better than the rest
Pride of Africa so meek and mild
British born when streets were wild
Gentle giant one of a kind
A bigger man unlikely to find
Wealth in life never mattered one jot
For if it was measured in kindness
You'd be the richest of the lot !
Just like Jesus at that time of year
For you Philip too we'll shed a tear
Your similar nature is so easy to see
A simple man who held the key !
So just like your king we'll always remember
Your name will shine bright each & every December
Yes comparisons are so easy to make
As you touched so many for Christ's sake
It's unbelievable you'll no longer be there
Wonder how we'll fare to think we don't dare ...
When we look up in summer at the afternoon sun
When we look up at winters moon and remember what we'd done
Great Yarmouth and The Strong Man Fair
Cheddar Gorge Cheese & Weston Super Mare
High & Mighty the store where you bought your clothes
High & Mighty the legend that everybody knows
So humble so heartfelt a lesson to us all
That we should try to catch up or always call
United we stand ready to lend a hand
To help others up if we can
Wherever they may land
In life , be true , lead the way
So that we might too see a brighter day .
