promise forgotten?
forgotten by you, maybe.
but not so by me.

I like when pieces have multiple interpretations. Read the above, and think of it from the point of view of one lover to another. Makes sense. But then think of it from the point of view of a voter to a political candidate. Makes a different kind of sense, maybe. (And I don't mean that as a comment against any particular candidate or party, lying to voters seems to be equally bi-partisan in the USA.)
I like that many poems can mean something slightly different when thought of in different lights...
