Running from shadows escaping the confusion
Phantom visions, demons casting the illusion.
Darkness calls beckoning me, “come, enter,”
Winds wrath spreading cold fingers of winter.
I cannot move, though I wish it so,
Shadows stretch forth darkened fingers grow.
So still the time, so quick my hearts beat,
Wicked laughter haunts my hasty retreat.
Too many times I have come this way,
Remembering lost journeys of yesterday.
Oh the past, why can you not leave me be?
Depart from my life be a forgotten memory.
I search for the light, hope, and souls release
Sheltered arms providing joy and peace.
A deep breath breathes me life and love,
And God’s arms hold me, strength from above.
I no longer fear the darkness for God is my light,
He holds me safely, peace and tranquility in the night.
He is my strong tower, my Savior in the worlds rage,
And the darkness fades as I start a new chapter, new page.
