Running barefoot through the meadow green,
Beautiful flowers as far as the eye can see.
Once upon a sunrise this view was shared,
Once long ago, you said you really cared.
Now I run. I try to outrun this heart wrenching pain,
I try to forget that I even know your name.
Your face is everywhere, your voice calls to me,
I scream my pain trying to forget your memory.
We shared thoughts and hopes, a lifetime of dreams,
And now it just does not mean anything.
Lying down in the meadow green,
Trying to forget you were my everything.
