An unrelenting fight between parents,
The children innocent observers,
And then a distrust between all the members:
the father, lost in his dreams,
the mother, always at ill ease,
the son, indifferently bored,
the daughter, needed someone’s support;
Still, they defiantly loved each other—
missed each other;
were lost in the world of one another;
They believed a family remains a family—
even when every member goes crazy,
even after the tragic collapse—
the bitter divorce: the parents’ wrath!

Divorce is such an emotional and life-changing event for any family and affects both adults and children. It is a tough battle that can take a toll in more than one way. Thank you for sharing this poem, prompting us to consider this disconcerting yet common reality.
