Trapped inside through a window I gaze,
Hard to see outside through the thick, foggy haze.
Shadows of darkness, clouds pierce the sky,
A bridge, a gap, a charcoal heart in ruins lies.
If the room I chance to escape would the bridge be alive?
The gap wide, the abyss deep, could I jump, stretch, survive?
Oh, beat the charcoal heart, the blackness taken its toll,
To lighten a smile, eyes that see, give the heart a soul.
A captive. Emotions. My eyes cannot see what is there,
Jump. Just jump. Let the rainbow of tears take you there.
Where? Where do I go to relieve my aching sorrow?
Retreat. My mind shelters into its own until tomorrow.
