Today, I stood still enough to touch the raw edges of healing.
An ode to abandonment and not being right. To being left and leaving behind.
Today, I did not crawl and recognized yesterday in the eye of the storm
where no soothing was found. Where stillness offers no exit.
For a while, I just sat on the ground. Today, you were enough. And confused
as anyone in your lane would be. How fast, where to, your curious glanced
in the rearview mirror when it finally noticed me.
Out of sight, your engine roared.
You have such a voice and presence here in this poem. Great job building up the tension. Thanks for sharing!
