To those who care about such minutiae, I thought of making the line "wish I'd chose the fire's way" but wanted to convey that the speaker has been a passive observer of his own life so he chose nothing but let the seas wash over him, just as a starfish does.
a chill in the air
cold and grey the sky above
hiding the sun
heavy raindrops fall on me
changing days are here to stay
I see a star that never floated in the sky.
I see myself, don't ask me why.
I see the bumps, the spikes and say
I wish I'd had the fire's way.
The little Star Fish wanted to be a "Twinkling Star", to float in space, and not the seas.
He swam and swam untill just before reaching the sand.
The waves of foam and the salt water breeze, set the lttle star at ease.
He pulled and pulled using the last of his strength, using all five of his hands.
Pulling himself free of his permenat link, and thus began the little stars woes.
He layed in the sand as the hours crept by, until finaly he saw the bright nights sky.
He made his wish, his intentions well known, far up in the sky he wanted to go.
Star Fish's strength had left him, he began to die.
And in just a twinkling of an eye, the dying starfish got his wish.
the starfish left this earth, and his sea.
And a new twinkling star is what he be.
