How poetic can you be?

Bravery can be found in fighting monsters,

Smelly and dangerous so that you must

Hold your nose as you fight them

Until they are muddy dust.

But there is a different kind of bravery

That comes from simply watching a rock

That is coming to end you

And destroy everything you've got.

So he watched calmly and with a resigned fascination

As humans come his way

Driving machines to end all he's ever known

So that "progress" can rule the day.

When they come he will attack them

Each and every ugly man

And he won't even hold his nose

But use both paws to fight them,

In dying he will honor all his species is

Extinction inevitable but he dies doing
